Terms of Service

Effective 7 September 2026. These Terms govern your use of TekWagon, a free household budgeting, forecasting and planning service operated by TekWagon.

1. Who may use TekWagon

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity performed through your account.

2. What TekWagon is — and is not

TekWagon helps you record household finances, organise budgets, model future cash flow and savings goals, and optionally ask an AI assistant questions about information in your household. TekWagon is not a bank, payment service, accountant, tax adviser, investment adviser, financial adviser, lawyer or credit provider.

Forecasts, calculations and AI-generated responses can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. They are informational planning aids only. You remain responsible for checking important figures and for decisions involving money, tax, investments, credit, insurance or legal obligations.

3. Your data and household sharing

You keep ownership of information you add. You give us the limited rights needed to host, process, back up and display that information to provide the service. If you join a shared household, other authorised household members may see and work with household financial information according to their role.

Do not add information you do not have the right to use or share. Avoid entering unnecessary highly sensitive information in free-text fields or AI prompts.

4. AI features

AI is optional. When you deliberately use an AI feature, the question and relevant household context may be sent to the configured AI provider so it can produce a response. TekWagon labels AI-generated responses and does not treat them as professional advice. Provider availability, accuracy and model behaviour are outside our complete control.

If you connect your own OpenAI API key, charges incurred on that provider are between you and the provider. You are responsible for your provider account, limits and billing.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use TekWagon to break the law, access another person's data without permission, probe or bypass security controls, overload the service, automate abusive traffic, distribute malware, or interfere with other users. We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or third parties.

6. Free public beta and availability

TekWagon is currently provided free of charge and may include beta functionality. We may add, change or remove features, limits or providers. We aim to operate the service responsibly but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Please keep independent copies of records you cannot afford to lose.

7. Intellectual property

TekWagon's software, branding and original interface content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of TekWagon or its underlying software.

8. Ending your account

You may stop using TekWagon and request account deletion from Privacy & Account settings. For a sole-user household, household data is deleted with the household. In a genuinely shared household, shared records may need to remain available to the other members after your personal identifiers are removed. A sole owner of a shared household must transfer ownership before deleting the account.

9. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, TekWagon is provided on an “as available” basis and we are not responsible for losses caused solely by relying on unverified forecasts, AI output, user-entered data, third-party provider outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Because the service is currently free, any contractual limitation of liability will be interpreted only to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not ask you to waive rights that the law says cannot be waived.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product or law changes. When a material new version applies, TekWagon can require you to review and accept that version before continuing. We retain an auditable record of the version and time of acceptance.

11. Governing rights and disputes

Applicable law, including any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence, continues to apply. Nothing here prevents you from using rights or remedies that cannot legally be contracted away.
